Medora Musical Release 7/25/26
MEDORA, N.D. – It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing yesterday of Michael Lewis Smith, a cherished cast member and talented keyboardist for the Coal Diggers Band in the Medora Musical and Medora Gospel Brunch.
We ask for privacy, respect, and kindness for Michael’s family, friends, and fellow cast and crew members as we process this unimaginable loss and navigate the days ahead.
The scheduled performance of the Medora Musical for tonight, July 25, will be canceled.
The July 26 performance of the Medora Gospel Brunch will be replaced with a special performance of The Teddy Roosevelt Show with Brunch.
The July 26 performance and future performances of the Medora Musical will proceed as scheduled.
Further details regarding memorial services or tribute arrangements will be shared as they become available.

Out of respect for a loss within our Medora show family, the July 25 performance of the Medora Musical has been canceled.
Guests with tickets for tonight’s performance can:
– Receive two complimentary vouchers for every full-price ticket purchased.
Vouchers may be redeemed for any remaining Medora Musical performance this season or during the 2027 season. To request your vouchers, please complete the form by clicking here or visit Ticket Junction, the Medora Musical Welcome Center, or any TRMF lodging property, including Rough Riders Hotel, Hotel 1883, Badlands Motel, Elkhorn Quarters, or the Medora Campground.
– Exchange your tickets for tonight’s performace of Rebels & Outlaws, or another performance of the Medora Musical.
Exchanges may be made at Ticket Junction, the Medora Musical Welcome Center, or any TRMF lodging property, including Rough Riders Hotel, Hotel 1883, Badlands Motel, Elkhorn Quarters, or the Medora Campground.

Medora Gospel Brunch 7/26/26
The July 26 Medora Gospel Brunch has been canceled and will be replaced with a special performance of the Theodore Roosevelt Show with Brunch.
Your tickets will automatically be updated to reflect this change—no action is required if you plan to attend the Theodore Roosevelt Show with Brunch.
If you prefer not to attend and would like a refund, please complete the Medora Musical Refund Request Form by clicking here. Include your Gospel Brunch ticket number to receive am automatic refund.
