Medora’s most famous resident, Theodore Roosevelt, embodied the spirit of the west by pursuing what he called the strenuous life; to go outside and get dirty.
The goal of our Western Heritage initiative is to create a space for positive, life-changing experiences that preserve, enhance, and promote the western culture that can be found in every corner of Medora.
Western Heritage will help preserve the essence of Western Culture for the future, educating and entertaining those of all ages from all over. With horse stalls, large rig campsites with full hook-ups, a rodeo arena that will house all kinds of rodeo events from around the region, a petting zoo, a Learning Center to educate the future on the ways of the West, and a Practice Arena. This will solidify Medora as an equine destination.
