Celebrating Our 60th Anniversary Series: Looking for Your Stories!

July 1, 1965, was a historic day in Medora, North Dakota. The Medora Musical was performed in the Burning Gulch Amphitheater, which changed names several times before becoming the Burning Hills Amphitheatre. This year marks the 60th Anniversary of North Dakota’s favorite summer tradition, and the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation wants to celebrate with you!

Many North Dakotans have been coming to the Medora Musical for a long time. Some have been coming for twenty, thirty, forty, and fifty years, like the Sandbergs, see their story here: https://foundation.medora.com/2025/02/14/thesandbergssixtieth/

There are even a few that have been coming to the Medora Musical since it first opened in 1965!

If you are one of those people, we want to hear from you! Share a special memory, show off your old photos, and take a walk down memory lane with the Theodore Roosevelt Medora Foundation as we prepare to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Medora Musical

Do you remember sitting on those old wooden planks? How about the zoo that used to be behind the musical? Do you recall Victor Julian and his Little Stars? Were you there when Cowboy Lyle Glass first began his famous “Ghost Rides”? Do you remember the historic effort to revitalize the amphitheater that we know and love today?

There are many special moments at the Medora Musical, and we know you have your favorites! Those who submit their stories have a chance of being featured on social media and beyond! Plus, if you have been to all 60 shows, we want to honor you with a VIP experience at our anniversary show on July 1, 2025.

Submit your stories, upload your photos, and get excited to share in this year’s special events at the 60th Anniversary of the Medora Musical
