Opening Night for the 60th Anniversary of the Medora Musical!

Published on May 12, 2025

60 years of the Medora Musical is cause for a celebration! This year, we are celebrating with a festive opening night on June 4th.

This year will mark the start of new opening night traditions as we commemorate our 60th anniversary season with a ribbon-cutting ceremony hosted by the world’s best Theodore Roosevelt reprisor, Joe Wiegand. More Medora favorites including Sheriff Bear and Prairie Rose will be joining in on the fun. All guests will be invited to start the night with a celebratory countdown, bubble machines, special edition merch, and more!

While opening night will be undeniably special, the fun will continue all week during our “Spirit Week”. We invite Medora Musical guests to dress in their Badlands best and participate in each theme day listed below.

Wednesday will be Hat Day: wear a cowboy hat to the Medora Musical!

Thursday is Rhinestone Day: wear your glitter, stars, and rhinestones!

Friday is Patriotic Day: wear your Red, White, and Blue and patriotic gear.

Saturday is Medora Spirit Day: either your most recent or a vintage style of a Medora T-Shirt, hat, or wearable souvenir!

Sunday is Boots Day: wear your cowboy boots to the Medora Musical.

We hope to see you on the opening night of the Medora Musical! It will be an unforgettable evening and one you do not want to miss!
